The annual Metro Summit for Lake and River Groups is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1st.  Sponsored by the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) in partnership with the Freshwater Society, the Summit gathers citizen leaders, local and state government representatives and water resource professionals from around the metro area for an evening of learning and networking.

The MCWD and the Freshwater Society are in the 9th year of delivering the Watershed Association Initiative (WAI), a collaborative effort to bring citizens and volunteers within the water district the training, connections, and support they need to take action on behalf of their local lakes and streams.  As part of the WAI, the Summit is open to residents of the watershed, as well as anyone interested in the greater metro area.

The Summit aims to give citizen groups the tools and knowledge to make a real impact on the water that they care about.  The event is also a great opportunity to network with other groups in your area.  Topics at this year's Summit include:

There is a $10 registration fee and dinner is provided.  Register at
