Tamarack Lake
Tamarack Lake is located in the city of Victoria. Head east on Minnetonka Blvd and turn right at Co Rd 101. Turn right on MN-7 and then take a left onto Rolling Acres Rd. Turn left onto Tamarack Trail and then to access Tamarack Lake take the trail system heading east. Most of the surface area of Tamarack Lake is littoral zone (shallow area between 0-15 ft) which is overrun with aquatic vegetation. Tamarack Lake was enrolled in the CAMP program in 2001. Secchi disk depth data is available from 1985 while water quality data (including secchi disk depth) is available in the STORET database starting in 2001. Currently, the citizen-assisted lake monitoring program (CAMP) monitors on a bi-weekly basis and sends the data to the Metropolitan Council staff. MCWD receives the raw data each fall (Met Council, 2007). Currently not available. Monitoring season started in late April and ended in late September by CAMP. Surface water samples were collected and analyzed for a variety of parameters, but MCWD is concerned with chlorophyll-a and total phosphorus (TP). Secchi disk depth was also recorded.
The following summary refers to Figure 6.7 (a-c).
Lake Grades and Historical Monitoring Summaries When available, previous reports are linked to applicable year. Additional lake data previous to 2007 may be available in the applicable year's hydrodata report. If you have additional questions or you are looking for specific information please contact MCWD's Water Quality Staff.
