Monitoring season duration was from May through September. Surface samples were collected once a month throughout the season and the parameters analyzed include: total phosphorus (TP) and chlorophyll-a.  Measurements of Secchi disc depth were also recorded.

2008 Data Summary

2008 Summer Water Quality Summary
Parameters Range Mean TSI Value Lake Grade
Months   June - Sept.   May - Sept.
Secchi Depth (m) 0.4 - 0.7 .06 70 F
Surface TP (µg/L) 124 - 214 151.4 78 D
Chlorophyll-a (µg/L) 56 - 134 82.2 75 F
    Overall Score 74 F

The following summary refers to Figure 7.11 (a-c).

  • Secchi disk depth decreased from 0.7 m to 0.4 m from May to July and then increased to 0.7 m by the end of the season. Water clarity was below the standard (> 1.2 m) for the entire season.
  • Chlorophyll-a concentrations increased from 34 µg/L to 134 µg/L from May to July and then decreased to 57 µg/L by September. Concentrations were above the standard (< 40 µg/L), except in May.
  • From May to July, surface TP concentrations increased from 90 µg/L to 214 µg/L and then decreased to 124 µg/L by September. TP concentrations were above the standard limit (< 40 µg/L) for the entire season.
