Monitoring season duration was from May through September. Surface samples were collected once a month throughout the season and the parameters analyzed include: total phosphorus (TP) and chlorophyll-a.  Measurements of Secchi disc depth were also recorded.

2008 Data Summary

2008 Summer Water Quality Summary
Parameters Range Mean TSI Value Lake Grade
Months   June - Sept.   May - Sept.
Secchi Depth (m) 1.9 - 2.1 1.9 50 C
Surface TP (µg/L) 19 - 43 33.4 53 C
Chlorophyll-a (µg/L) 1 - 15 7.6 50 A
    Overall Score 51 B-

The following summary refers to Figure 7.9 (a-c).

  • Secchi disk depth increased from 1.5 m to 2.1 m by July and then decreased to 2.0 m for the remainder of the season (standard > 1.2 m).
  • Chlorophyll-a concentrations decreased from 9 m to 1 µg/L by July. The rest of the season, concentrations increased from 9 µg/L to 15 µg/L. Chlorophyll-a concentrations remained below or equal to the standard limit (< 15 µg/L) for the entire season.
  • Surface TP concentrations decreased gradually over the season beginning at 51 µg/L and dropping  to 19 µg/L. Concentrations were below the standard limit (< 40 µg/L) from July to September.
