Minnesota is famous for its clean water, abundance of lakes, and friendly citizens. The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District is a resource for protecting these assets. We are a resource for educating local officials and municipal staff on these topics, and has the following to offer:

In 2005, the Watershed District collaborated with the City of Mound for a redevelopment project within the City to reconstruct the existing downtown business and residential district adjacent to Lost Lake and Langdon Lake.  Project partners include: City of Mound, Mound Harbor Development Group and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

In 2011, the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) will give grants to partnering cities to have their street sweepings analyzed by a laboratory in an effort to identify and measure pollutants that enter storm sewers. The resulting data will help the MCWD and cities take actions that limit the amount of those pollutants that make their way into our lakes, streams, and wetlands.
