To celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2017, we’re hosting a series of free events across the watershed where you can protect our beautiful waters and have fun while you’re at it!  If you attend at least 5 events, you’ll qualify for half-price admission to our Sunset Celebration on November 2nd. Join us from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, June 11, at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis to celebrate the ways a lake can put a smile on your face. Activities at this free event include canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking (bring your own kayak), water-themed miniature golf, geocaching, an 11am tour of the Lake Nokomis Naturescape butterfly gardens, and more.

Take a tour of gardens along Lake Minnetonka by boat. Michael Keenan and Sam Geer of Urban Ecosystems – and authors of "The Lake Minnetonka Guide to Shoreline Gardens” - will provide tips on how to create beautiful shoreline gardens. These tours are geared for audiences ages 18+.

Kudos to all of the volunteers who collected 1,134 pounds of trash from Minnehaha Creek in St. Louis Park and Hopkins - that's more than 1/2 ton! Volunteers also cleaned and stenciled more than 40 storm drains in the Aquila Park neighborhod. Thanks for helping keep Minnehaha Creek clean!

An essential part of keeping our waters clean is to pick-up trash along the shores and in the water. Join us for this free, family-friendly clean-up in St. Louis Park on Sunday, July 23! We will focus on cleaning up Minnehaha Creek in St. Louis Park and Hopkins by collecting, weighing, and disposing of trash.

Join us for this free, family-friendly clean-up in Minneapolis on Saturday, August 19! We will focus on cleaning up Lake Hiawatha in Minneapolis and by collecting, weighing, and disposing of trash. You can collect trash from watercraft and on land.

Join in on the celebration for National Public Lands Day at Minnehaha Falls. We'll be hosting guided nature hikes with Wilderness Inquiry that include indepth information about this area, as well as kid activities.
