Greenway Cleanup

Knollwood Target Parking Lot, St. Louis Park
Sunday, July 23, 2017 10:00 am -12:00 pm

An essential part of keeping our waters clean is to pick-up trash along the shores and in the water. Join us for this free, family-friendly clean-up in St. Louis Park on Sunday, July 23! We will focus on cleaning up Minnehaha Creek in St. Louis Park and Hopkins by collecting, weighing, and disposing of trash. Bring your friends and compete to see who can collect the most trash, the most unusual trash, the smallest trash (think candy wrappers and cigarette butts) name it!

Want to bike to the event? We'll have a free bike check for your convenience.

”Greenway Cleanup" is part of “Jump In & Make a Splash!” - a series of community events across the watershed celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. The series concludes with the Sunset Celebration on Thursday, November 2 at St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis, featuring live music, food and drink. Tickets are $40. People who attend at least five events qualify for half-price admission and those who attend all nine events get in for free!

The event is sponsored by MCWD and Target, in partnership with the Freshwater Society, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, Berne Scale, REI, Wilderness Inquiry and Tonka Bay Marina.
