Minnehaha Creek Watershed District Teams Up With Leinenkugel’s For Clean Water 3rd Annual Creek Clean Up On July 12, 2009 MEDIA ALERT - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Minnehaha Creek Watershed District Teams with Leinenkugel's and Others For Clean Water 3rd Annual Creek Clean Up on July 12 is Part of President Obama's "Summer of Service" Program DEEPHAVEN, MN –June 18, 2009 – On Sunday, July 12, volunteers from across the metro area together with Minnehaha Creek Watershed District, Leinenkugel’s, and Citizens for Minnehaha Creek Corridor, will clean Minnehaha Creek. The Creek will get a facelift from litter and invasive plant life starting at Lake Hiawatha moving upstream. Throughout the morning, volunteers will be dispersed along the banks of the creek. Before they begin, the first 250 to register will fuel up on a complimentary pancake breakfast and learn more about the creek from Citizens for Minnehaha Creek Corridor. Once all the trash is collected, and the creek is clean, the celebration will continue with a lakeside barbeque complete with a Leinie’s brew for those 21 and older, compliments of Leinenkugel’s.
