Minnehaha Creek Cleanup Sponsored by Leinenkugel's ~ Sunday, July 12, 2009

	The Minnehaha Creek Clean-up sponsored by the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District, Leinenkugel's, and the Citizens for the Minnehaha Creek Corridor started with...
	...registration & breakfast.
	150 participants picked up 4 truck loads of garbage...
	...including over 1,000 candy wrappers & stenciled 38 storm drains.
	Lunch was served by Adrian's.
	The presence of the Minneapolis Police Department allows Leinenkugel beverages to be served with lunch (for those old enough to participate). KS95 was able to come out to cover the event!
Prizes were awarded to participants that...		...collected the most candy wrappers.

Methodist Hospital Restoration and Boardwalk Grand Opening Celebration ~ Saturday, August 1, 2009

The Methodist Hospital Restoration and Boardwalk Grand Opening took place on Tuesday, June 23, 2009.

In partnership with the MCWD, the Hospital re-meandered a stretch of Minnehaha Creek and installed a boardwalk though the wetland that allows patients and the public a chance to interact with nature.

five raingardens with educational signs
stone paths
dry creeks
underground infiltration galleries
Grassy infiltration swales
stormwater capture for re-use in irrigation
over 2 acres of green area
